Hi, seems that bison/flex (yacc/lex) have to be installed on the system, before GiNaC can be compiled. Nothing is said about that in the README/INSTALL files. The configure script checks it, but does not fail. Anyway, after providing them, g++-3.3 compiles GiNaC-1.2.1 fine. Hi All, I posted the message below to Richard last week. I recognized on his homepage that he could be a bit busy. Anyway, maybe it is also relevant for GiNaC users. Therefore, I decided to post it again to the ginac lists. Meanwhile, I've installed cln-1.1.5 from a rpm-package located at "http://mirror.mcs.anl.gov/suse/i386/9.1/suse/i586/" That should work. Dear GiNaCers, Here is a patch for series expansion. The reason for the patch is the same as for one I sent before. However, I did not get any answer on my pervious mail. What do you think when I say "Series expansion should never use expansion, unless there is no other means available to avoid it."? Best, Chris
